Grosvenor understands that there is an opportunity to differentiate the 1300 Block by better connecting it to the waterfront and by introducing opportunities for art, culture and enjoyment. The former gas station at 1392 Marine Drive has been vacant for years, but we have thought of a way to improve it while we complete a rezoning process and prepare for development.
Through March and April 2011, Grosvenor installed trees, grass, pavers, benches, and lighting – much of which can be re-used in the ultimate development for the site. In addition, we brought two temporary public art installations to the site through the Buschlen Mowatt Fine Arts Ltd. Foundation and the Vancouver Biennale.
